The Mexican Chamber for the Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology Industries has more than 70 years in our country, being the top entity representing these sectors in Mexico and promoting their development at a global scale with high quality services.

CANIETI is a public interest, autonomous institution with legal status and capital of its own, different from that of its members, established according to what is provided in the Act of Business Chambers and their Confederations.

Individuals or corporations legally established both in the Mexican Republic and abroad, usually engaging in activities related to the electronics, telecommunications and/or information technology, affiliate in CANIETI.

CANIETI promotes and reinforces the industry through its national offices and regional chapters, gathering more than 1,000 member companies:

  • North Chapter: Cd. Juárez, Chih.

  • Central-South Chapter: México, D.F.
    • Regional Office in Mérida, Yuc.
    • Regional Office in Villahermosa, Tabasco.
    • Regional Office in Campeche, Campeche.

Objectives:

  • To give CANIETI and its members a globalized presence in an institutionalized manner.
  • To promote business opportunities for its associates, by introducing the companies and their products to the world sphere.
  • To consolidate, develop and drive the competitiveness of the sectors represented.
  • To manage all the activities which strengthen the industry, to work with a guild view and commitment, which allows taking the benefits of technology all over the country.
  • To represent and watch over the interests of its associates.

Some of the services offered by CANIETI to its associates are: a testing laboratory for electrical, electronic and telecommunications equipment; Government relations, consultancy and foreign trade services, normalization, communications, funding and financing for companies, among many others.

Over the last few years, CANIETI has been recognized as the facilitation business organization that has obtained more resources for its associates through funds such as PROSOFT and Fondo PYME, both managed by the Mexican Ministry of Economy.

In 2007, also, to the benefit of its members, CANIETI successfully becomes a facilitation business organization before international entities, being the first business organization to do it.

CANIETI manages Mexico´s IT program since its conception five years ago in order to position the Mexican IT capabilities at a global level; as well as Mexico´s FIRST initiative to create the required human capital to promote the development and competitiveness of Mexican companies. The Ministry of Economy supports both programs.

In 2003, 2004, 2006, 2007 and 2010, CANIETI received the National Prize of Ethics and Values awarded by the Mexican Confederation of Industrial Chambers (CONCAMIN) to the institution that shows commitment and social responsibility both for its members and the society in general.
