As WITSA Global Partner, MexicoIT,  along with the Mexican Chamber for the Electronics, Telecommunications and Information Technology Industries (CANIETI), is pleased to give you our warmest welcome to the WITSA Global Public Policy Summit 2011 in the beautiful city of Guadalajara, Mexico.

Combining history, traditions and world-class infrastructure, Mexico has everything to host a high-level event such as the GPPS with a magical touch never seen before, powered by a unique synergy between government, industry and academia.

Our proposed theme for the GPPS 2011 in Guadalajara is “Fulfilling the Promise of the Digital Age: e-Inclusion in an i-Society”. We believe it reflects the key role played by ICT in supporting daily life in today’s digital society.

We recognize that ICT is used at work, in day-to-day relationships, in dealing with public services as well as in culture, entertainment, leisure and when participating in community and political dialogues. Thus, the definition and deployment of the e-Inclusion policies based on global best practices and models, should promote the use of ICT to overcome social exclusion and improve economic performance, employment opportunities, quality of life, social participation and cohesion.

This is precisely our goal for the GPPS 2011: To create a unique and valuable forum for discussions of the “state of the world” in relation to public policies affecting the IT industry, in order to promote and educate industry and governments regarding the growth potential of the digital economy and, at the same time, examine key IT public policy issues and explore the key policy concerns of IT businesses.
